Martial puts contract talks on hold

We start with the back page of The Sun and it's not that story on Paul Pogba, no it's the one on Anthony Martial putting his contract talks with Manchester United on hold. The report says that whilst Martial had been in talks to extend his deal they have been shelved until the player has a better idea what is going on with manager Jose Mourinho.

Paper Round's view: It's hardly a secret that Martial and Mourinho don't get on and it makes sense from the player's perspective to wait and see what happens. Cahill ready to quit Chelsea

Sticking with The Sun and it is reported that Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is ready to quit the club. Cahill is yet to play a minute under Maurizio Sarri and is hoping that he will be allowed to leave in January if this trend continues. Cahill hopes that his service to the club will be rewarded by being allowed to join a Premier League club.

Paper Round's view: Gary Cahill has been a fantastic servant for Chelsea, but it is unquestionably the time to move. In his squad Sarri has two experienced centre-backs in David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger and two extremely talented young players in Andreas Christensen and Ethan Ampadu. Cesar Azpilicueta could be used there as well if needed, it make sense for Cahill to leave.

Paper Round's view: Theoretically at least this is quite exciting for Charlton, anything would be better than Roland Duchatelet let's be honest. The Charlton fans deserve some new hope after so many years of hurt.

The FA want to bring these deals under one roof, with the current arrangement seeing 1966 Entertainment take a leading role. A leadership committee from within the squad will talk to the FA about how to take things forward.

Paper Round's view: This seems like a logical move from the England players given their current popularity after their exploits at the World Cup. Plus the FA are likely to go along with it lest they end up with a Denmark scenario...
